Florinol quick facts
- A liquid that produces Energy, the game's first power source
- Made by using a Condenser on Florin
- Stored in a Florinol Battery to run machinery and tools
- Refined in a Synthesizer into Aurixite
Florinol is the first resource in Sandustry that allows you to generate Energy. It is a liquid condensed from Florin, and it feeds power to machinery and tools through the Florinol Battery.
Florinol does not come out of the ground ready to use. It requires a chemical step that turns one material into another.
To obtain Florinol, you use a Condenser on Florin. This is the conversion step that gives you the liquid Florinol in the first place.
Florinol has a low density and a liquid matter type. Treat it as a flowable fluid that needs the fluid handling systems rather than conveyor belts.
The point of Florinol is power. The Florinol Battery is the bridge between the fuel and the machines that need Energy.
Putting Florinol into a Florinol Battery produces Energy. This is the moment a fuel becomes actual usable power.
When you use that Energy, the Florinol in the battery solidifies and turns into Florinol Soil. Power and the fuel are traded off against each other.
Energy powers machinery and tools. The Energy Siphon and Energy Connector move and pass that power between power structures.
Energy is Florinol's headline job, but it has a second use that matters for late-game refining.
Putting Florinol into a Synthesizer turns it into Aurixite. This is the refining path for Florinol once you have a separate, steady energy source.
The Florinol Battery research node unlocks in Tier 5 for 1,500 Gold. It is a prerequisite step for the Energy system and several powered buildings that follow.
